Taja Lindley - Dixon Place Artist-in-Residence

Taja Lindley was named an Artist-in-Residence at Dixon Place. From May through August 2017 she will be using the space and resources of her residency to further develop her one-woman show.

Each year Dixon Place selects 3 emerging artists for 4-month residencies, providing 120 hours of workshop space, technical support and a stipend. Artists-in-residence have the opportunity to culminate their time at Dixon Place with a presentation.

The City of/by/for Women Project featured Taja Lindley in their poster project. This project engages Rebecca Solnit and Joshua Jelly-Schapiro’s Nonstop Metropolis project, specifically the map “City of Women,” in which she addresses the male-centric naming of western cities through the re-naming of New York City’s metro map.

In preparation for her upcoming show in the Submerge festival, Taja Lindley did an interview about her solo performance practice with Helix Queer Performance Network - a producer of the festival.
